Hinged metal cover, bronze in color, with embossed metal letters, copper in color, reading “DAR, LOUISA ST C[L]AIR CH[AP]TER JUNIOR DE[P]ARTME[N]T” (Bracketed letters are missing, but their outlines remain visible), under an embossed silhouette of the DAR insignia, made of the same material.

002 Inside front cover. Two handwritten cards, ink on metallic gold paper, explaining the decision to use rationed materials during wartime to complete the scrapbook. Adhesive remnants around three sides of the area where the cards are affixed suggests something was removed; perhaps a protective barrier or sleeve, or a label on the raw material.
